When a daughter honey bee is about fifteen days old, tiny flakes of wax secrete from the belly. Honey bees sculpt the wax into the hexagonal honeycomb which houses their food and baby siblings.
Beeswax begins colorless and scentless. The hue and scent varies based on the plant materials Collected by the honey bee.
