Alysia is a candlemaker, gardener, and artist. Her creative work centers the slowness of working by hand and the sustainability of local and seasonal limits. She is the co-founder of Backland NY, where she studies biomimicry beekeeping. She resides on Haudenosaunee land with her family and the wild honey bees.
